"Chao Phraya Phrasadet Surentharathibodi Fund" was established by the heirs of Chao Phraya Phrasadet Surentharathibodi, who donated it in 1949. The purpose of the fund is to award interest earnings to outstanding medical faculty members who demonstrate excellent teaching abilities, can effectively impart knowledge, are dedicated educators, and continually seek new methods of teaching that benefit student learning. These educators should also serve as positive role models, fostering professional attitudes among their students.
Since 1969, the faculty has been selecting and awarding this recognition to its faculty members. In the academic year 1995, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital's committee decided to increase the prize amount in proportion to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital’s contribution to the recipients of the "Chao Phraya Phrasadet Surentharathibodi Fund" each year.
